Baseball Recap: Borah Lions vs. Rocky Mountain Grizzlies

Borah had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 8-15 to make it four. They lost 10-0 to the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 9-3 to the Grizzlies when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Rocky Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Rocky Mountain's part, Lincoln Mathis made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Mathis has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Jackson Wendt was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carter Harrison, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
