Basketball Recap: Rossford Takes a Loss

Rossford lost against Fostoria last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Rossford Bulldogs lost to the Fostoria Redmen at home by a 54-37 margin.

Loss or not, Rossford got some senior leadership from Scarlett Williams and Maddy Kutscher. Williams went 7 of 17 en route to 19 points, while Kutscher posted six points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. That was a full 51.4% of Rossford's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Fostoria's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alycia Middlebrooks, who went 9 of 22 on her way to 21 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyrique Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Rossford has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Fostoria, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Rossford will challenge Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fostoria, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Oak Harbor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
