Recap: Seton Catholic Sentinels vs. Coconino Panthers
After a string of six wins, the Seton Catholic Sentinels's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 56-47 to Coconino. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Seton Catholic came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Coconino is ranked 158th).
Seton Catholic's loss came despite strong showings from Gio Barone and Kj Fauske. Barone scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds, while Fauske scored 12 points. The match was Barone's third in a row with at least ten points.
Seton Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Coconino, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seton Catholic has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Poston Butte at 7:00 p.m. on December 6th. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Dutch Martinez and Luke Padilla. As for Coconino, they will be playing at home against Apollo at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Apollo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday.
