Gibbs came tearing into Saturday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 66-61 win over the Westminster Academy Lions. Given the Gladiators' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Lions are ranked 50th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gibbs was led to victory by Jacob Daniels and Oneal Delancy. Daniels went 7 for 13 en route to 19 points in addition to six assists and four steals, while Delancy went 7 of 14 on his way to 21 points. The match was Daniels' third in a row with at least ten points. Mike Broxton Jr was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Gibbs is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Westminster Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.

Gibbs will welcome Hollins at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gibbs is facing Hollins at the right time seeing as Hollins is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Westminster Academy, they will take on Academy of Central Florida National at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Westminster Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games.
