Softball Recap: Sandia Prep Comes Up Short

Sandia Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-4 to the Santa Fe Indian Braves. If the Sundevils were looking for revenge after losing 13-12 to the Braves when the teams met back in May of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sandia Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ozzi Rockey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, Rockey posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Ivy Krehoff also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Sandia Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Santa Fe Indian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Coming up, Sandia Prep will challenge Pecos at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Santa Fe Indian, they will take on Laguna Acoma in a tournament on Saturday.
