Baseball Preview: Smithtown Christian Knights vs. Greenport Porters        
        
		
            The Smithtown Christian Knights will head out to  face off against the Greenport Porters  at 3:00  p.m.  on Monday. Smithtown Christian knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Greenport likes a good challenge.
Smithtown Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have   all season. Everything went their way against Southold on Thursday as they made off with  a  15-1 win. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Settlers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive  victory against them.

 Erick Aristy made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out 16 over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Quincy Gibbs and  Isaiah Gibbs did most of the damage at the plate:  Quincy  went 3-for-4 with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base, while  Isaiah  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  double. Quincy has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times he's  played.  Luke Ruggiero was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 Smithtown Christian was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .438. The last time their  batting average was this high was  back in May of 2024.
 Meanwhile, Greenport fell victim to Amityville Memorial and their airtight pitching crew  on Monday. They lost  11-0 to the Warriors. That's two games in a row now that the Porters have lost by  exactly 11  runs.
 Greenport's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Smithtown Christian, their record now sits at 9-1.
 Smithtown Christian might still be hurting after the  9-3 defeat they got from Greenport  when the teams last played  back in May of 2017. Can the Knights avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
