Basketball Game Preview: River Ridge Timberwolves vs. Cassville Comets

River Ridge is 10-0 against Cassville since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The River Ridge Timberwolves will venture away from home to challenge the Cassville Comets at 7:15 p.m. River Ridge will be strutting in after a win while Cassville will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Monday, River Ridge blew past Benton, posting an 84-39 victory. The Timberwolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Cassville's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were beaten by Highland 88-49. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Cardinals are ranked 61st).

River Ridge pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.6 points per game. As for Cassville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Everything came up roses for River Ridge against Cassville in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 63-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for River Ridge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
