Scarborough faced Gorham in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Red Storm never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The victory was just business as usual for the Red Storm, who after eight games remain undefeated this season.

Gorham's batters probably weren't too happy with Erik Swenson, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (he gave up zero walks). Swenson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Scarborough saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Fallona, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Fallona has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Scarborough's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Gorham, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 8-2 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scarborough will welcome Portland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Red Storm are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Gorham, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Blazes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.38 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
