Preview: Clarksdale Wildcats vs. Lafayette Commodores
Clarksdale has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Lafayette Commodores at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clarksdale has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 149 points over their last four matchups.
Clarksdale had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Cleveland Central, posting a 41-6 win at home. The result was nothing new for Clarksdale, who have now won five matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Lafayette entered their tilt with Canton with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lafayette secured a 14-10 W over Canton on Friday.
Clarksdale's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.3 points per game. As for Lafayette, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Clarksdale beat Lafayette 34-24 in their previous meeting back in October. Will Clarksdale repeat their success, or does Lafayette have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
