Basketball Recap: Knox Central Extends Road Winning Streak to Ten

Knox Central hadn't done well against Southwestern recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Knox Central Panthers put the hurt on the Southwestern Warriors with a sharp 80-58 win. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mckaila Monroe, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. Monroe has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Kinsley Molden was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Knox Central pushed their record up to 20-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.4 points. As for Southwestern, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.

Coming up, Knox Central will head out to face off against Harlan at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Harlan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Knox Central likes a good challenge. As for Southwestern, they will square off against Cumberland County at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwestern is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.
