Volleyball Game Preview: Hayesville Yellowjackets vs. Swain County Maroon Devils

Hayesville is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will head out to face off against the Swain County Maroon Devils at 6:00 p.m. Hayesville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Thursday, Hayesville made easy work of Hiwassee Dam and carried off a 3-0 win.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-20, 25-5.

Meanwhile, Swain County narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Summit Charter 3-2.

Swain County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 14-25, 25-21, 25-19, 15-12.

Swain County now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Hayesville, their record is now 5-1.

Hayesville came up short against Swain County when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
