Football Recap: Guyer Wildcats vs. Aledo Bearcats        
        
		
             Guyer  took care of business in their home opener  on Friday. They managed  a  35-30 victory over the Aledo Bearcats. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the   48-45 loss the Bearcats walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in September of 2023.
 Guyer's defense made their presence known, laying out   Gavin Beard. four times.  Khyren Haywood was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sackshimself.
 Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 21 in total. All came courtesy of  Ford Stinson: he went 4-for-4 kicking field goals for 12 points, and 3-for-3  kicking extra points for an additional three.
 When it comes to explaining why Aledo lost, don't look at  Kaydon Finley. Despite the final result, he picked up 141 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Finley got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and  took off for a gain of 72 yards. Aledo also got a significant boost from  Kaden Winkfield, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 100 yards.
 Guyer will be playing at home against Martin  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Aledo, they will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Lancaster  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday.
