After losing to Black River Falls the last time they met, Westby decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Norsemen came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 9-4 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Norsemen.

Ava Berg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emma Kirner, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Taylor Davidson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Westby's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Black River Falls, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-23.

Westby will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
