Volleyball Recap: Muscle Shoals Takes a Loss

Muscle Shoals lost against Austin back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Trojans fell 2-0 to the Black Bears.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-14.

Makenzie Sears paced Muscle Shoals' offense, picking up four kills. Sears got some help from Olivia Chapman and her ten assists.

Austin found their leader in sophomore Cora Barnes, who had nine digs and three assists.

Muscle Shoals' defeat dropped their record down to 16-16. As for Austin, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 23 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 38-7 record this season.

Muscle Shoals wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Huntsville on the 11th. As for Austin, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Madison Academy on the 11th.
