Soccer Recap: Calhoun Comes Up Short

After flying high against Palacios last Tuesday, Calhoun came back down to earth. The Calhoun Sandcrabs came up short against the El Campo Ricebirds on Friday, falling 4-1. The Sandcrabs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Ricebirds earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Calhoun's goal came courtesy of Jan Pablo Martinez, who's now up to five this season.

Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 9-6-1. As for El Campo, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5-2.

Calhoun wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 defeat against Columbus on the 4th. As for El Campo, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Hallettsville on the 4th.
