Recap: South Knox Spartans vs. Barr-Reeve Vikings
The South Knox Spartans were the 49-43 winner over the Barr-Reeve Vikings when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. South Knox fell 47-40 to Barr-Reeve on Friday. While losing is never fun, South Knox can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Barr-Reeve is ranked 72nd).
Barr-Reeve got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Seth Wagler out in front who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Donnie Miller, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
South Knox has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Barr-Reeve, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.
South Knox will square off against Vincennes Rivet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Barr-Reeve, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wood Memorial at 8:00 p.m.
