Baseball Recap: Elder Comes Up Short

Elder lost to La Salle back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Panthers fell 5-1 to the Lancers. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Elder got a good showing from Charlie Schroeder, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Schroeder has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Elder dropped their record down to 11-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for La Salle, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-8.

While Elder had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
