Basketball Game Preview: Malcolm Clippers vs. Ralston Rams

The Malcolm Clippers will head out on the road to challenge the Ralston Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Malcolm is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Malcolm beat Milford 61-56. Given the Clippers' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Eagles are ranked 145th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Malcolm's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Preston Kucera led the charge by putting up 17 points. Another player making a difference was Carson Frank, who posted 15 points.

Ralston hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They snuck past Conestoga with a 41-35 win on Tuesday.

Malcolm's record is now 7-2. As for Ralston, their record now sits at 4-7.

Malcolm beat Ralston 72-64 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Malcolm since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
