Baseball Recap: Columbus North Comes Up Short

Columbus North fell victim to Columbus East and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Olympians by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bull Dogs have suffered against the Olympians since May 27, 2019.

Joey Fry was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Columbus North and nudges their season record down to 7-10. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Columbus East, their win bumped their record up to 7-13.
