Softball Recap: Clark/Willow Lake Find Success

It was close, but on Monday the Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones sidestepped the Redfield Pheasants for a 3-1 win.

Maia Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kadee Frankfurth was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

Clark/Willow Lake now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Redfield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Clark/Willow Lake will host Castlewood on Saturday. As for Redfield, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sioux Valley at 12:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
