Softball Recap: Crockett Takes a Loss

Crockett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Seguin Matadors. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Matadors from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Sadie Peyton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Adola Moore was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Crockett hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive matches.

Crockett's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5-1. As for Seguin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Coming up, Crockett will head out on the road to challenge Incarnate Word at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Seguin, they will take on Robstown at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
