Baseball Recap: ThunderRidge Victorious

ThunderRidge barely beat Highlands Ranch the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Grizzlies never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Friday. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Cameron Carpinello, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Highlands Ranch off the board. Carpinello has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hudson Fagerholt was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ashton Santomo, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: ThunderRidge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highlands Ranch only managed three.

ThunderRidge's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Highlands Ranch, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. ThunderRidge will head out to square off against Boulder at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Grizzlies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Highlands Ranch, they will venture away from home to face off against Summit at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
