Preview: Richwood Lumberjacks vs. Clay County Panthers
The Richwood Lumberjacks are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Clay County Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Thursday, Richwood took a serious blow against Midland Trail, falling 60-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Richwood has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Grant Russell, who scored 12 points. He scored a full 44.4% of Richwood's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Dalton Spencer was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, Clay County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They suffered a tough 41-18 defeat at the hands of Calvary Baptist Academy.
Richwood bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Clay County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
