Football Game Preview: Willow Canyon Wildcats vs. Apollo Hawks + Official Tickets

The Willow Canyon Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Apollo Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Willow Canyon is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

On Friday, Willow Canyon had to suffer through a 46-7 loss at the hands of Yuma Catholic. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Shamrocks are ranked 46th).

Willow Canyon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Maurice Morrison and Vicente Meza.

Meanwhile, Apollo came up short against Sunrise Mountain on Friday and fell 33-21. The loss continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.

Willow Canyon will have to contain Tuinisautu Carter as he made an impact in Apollo's last game. He rushed for 93 yards and two scores.

Apollo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Willow Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Willow Canyon ended up a good deal behind Apollo in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, losing 38-20. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
