Soccer Game Preview: El Segundo vs. Redondo Union

The El Segundo Eagles will challenge the Redondo Union Sea Hawks at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. El Segundo's last five contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

El Segundo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They beat Brea Olinda by a goal, winning 3-2. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Redondo Union was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was Redondo Union who was credited with the win. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Hawks are ranked 165th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

El Segundo's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Redondo Union, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.

El Segundo came up short against Redondo Union in their previous meeting back in January, falling 2-0. Can El Segundo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
