Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Comes Up Short

The St. Joseph Academy Crusaders lost 66-45 to the High Tech SD Storm on Tuesday. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why St. Joseph Academy lost, don't look at Brewster Gale. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds. That was a full 53.3% of the Crusaders' points, marking the fifth time in a row Gale has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Blaise McMahon, who earned ten points.

High Tech SD can attribute much of their success to Hiro Nakamura, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 17 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mohamad Mahmoodi, who scored six points and five rebounds.

St. Joseph Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for High Tech SD, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Coming up, St. Joseph Academy will head out to square off against Escondido at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. High Tech SD and Innovations International will compete for holiday cheer at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
