Soccer Game Preview: Briar Woods vs. Independence

Briar Woods hasn't had much luck against Independence recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Falcons will take on Independence at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Briar Woods comes in on four and Independence on 14.

Briar Woods barely beat Lightridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Bolts on Monday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 4-0.

Meanwhile, Independence kept a clean sheet against Riverside on Monday. They put the hurt on the Ram with a sharp 5-0 win. Independence might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by three goals or more this season.

Independence's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five games. As for Briar Woods, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4-2.

Briar Woods couldn't quite get it done against Independence in their previous matchup two weeks ago as they fell 2-0. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
