The Lafayette Fighting Irish's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 44-29 win over St. Marys. For Lafayette, this counts as revenge for the 61-50 defeat St. Marys walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why St. Marys lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hayden Heim. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 37.9% of St. Marys' points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Lafayette's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for St. Marys, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Lafayette will be playing in front of their home fans against East Buchanan at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. St. Marys' road trip will continue as they head out to face Marysville on January 27th.
