Baseball Recap: Valley Forge Baptist Academy Wins Going Away Against Upper Bucks Christian

Valley Forge Baptist Academy won the last time they faced Upper Bucks Christian and things went their way on Monday too. The Patriots were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Upper Bucks Christian. Considering the Patriots have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Abe Moore and Ian WALL made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Moore struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, WALL struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Moore went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while WALL went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two triples. Those two triples gave WALL a new career-high.

In other batting news, Chanler Buckman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Micah Simotas also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Valley Forge Baptist Academy and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Upper Bucks Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley Forge Baptist Academy will welcome Lincoln Leadership Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Patriots' favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Lions have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Upper Bucks Christian, they will host Plumstead Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
