Basketball Recap: Ionia Comes Up Short

Ionia lost against Sexton back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Ionia Bulldogs received a blow as they fell 66-49 to the Sexton Big Reds. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Big Reds are ranked 85th).

Ionia's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Sexton, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Ionia will face off against Lansing Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sexton has already played their next contest (against Eastern), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
