Recap: Malden Green Wave vs. Dexter Bearcats
This season hasn't been kind to The Malden Green Wave, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They were dealt a 78-8 loss at the hands of Dexter on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Malden in their matchups with Dexter: they've now lost five in a row.
Dexter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jackson Howard out in front who threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Dexter also got help from Lee-michael Mcdonald who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.
Malden's defeat was their 12th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.0 points per game. As for Dexter, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Malden does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Dexter is also done with their season.
