St. Thomas More extended their winning streak to five on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 11-5 in the process. They beat the St. Catherine's Angels by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-1. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Evan Weckman spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Brody Alivo and Carson Weist did most of the damage at the plate: Alivo went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Weist got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI. That's the most RBI Alivo has posted over his last ten matchups. Luke Mrazek also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

St. Thomas More always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Catherine's only posted an OBP of .227.

As for St. Catherine's, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. Their defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

On St. Catherine's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Avila, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

St. Thomas More has already played their next contest, an 18-0 win against Greenfield on the 3rd. As for St. Catherine's, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-0 loss against Racine Horlick on the 3rd.
