Preview: Ross Rams vs. Harrison Wildcats
The Ross Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Harrison Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
On Saturday, Ross lost to Edgewood on the road by a decisive 53-38 margin. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Ross came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while Edgewood is ranked 407th).
Meanwhile, Harrison had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 55-36 victory over Anderson.
Harrison's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Shelby Piepmeier, who scored 15 points, and Alli Robertson, who scored 17 points. Robertson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Smith, who scored eight points.
This is the second loss in a row for Ross and nudges their season record down to 9-6. As for Harrison, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.
Ross came up short against Harrison when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 47-34. Can Ross avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
