Baseball Recap: El Cajon Valley Takes a Loss

El Cajon Valley extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-17 in the process. They lost 9-0 to the West Hills Wolf Pack. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Braves of the 16-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for West Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games.

For West Hills' part, Dylan Lincoln was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave Lincoln a new career-high.

While El Cajon Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
