Soccer Game Preview: Mae Jemison vs. Hazel Green

Mae Jemison hasn't had much luck against Hazel Green recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mae Jemison Jaguars will challenge the Hazel Green Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Mae Jemison has given up an average of 4.7 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Mae Jemison fell victim to Brewer and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 7-0 to the Patriots. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Hazel Green kept a clean sheet against Elkmont on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Red Devils with a sharp 3-0 victory. Alex Matthews had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Trojans.

Hazel Green has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four games. Mae Jemison's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Mae Jemison might still be hurting after the 11-2 loss they got from Hazel Green in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mae Jemison was down 4-0.
