Basketball Recap: North Summit Falls Despite Big Games from Buck Sargent and Trevor Richins

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, North Summit couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 56-47 to the South Sevier Rams on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-47 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, North Summit had strong showings from Trevor Richins, who posted 18 points in addition to eight assists and five boards, and Buck Sargent, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds.

North Summit's loss dropped their record down to 20-5. As for South Sevier, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

North Summit wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 65-55 win against American Leadership Academy on the 22nd. As for South Sevier, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-39 defeat against Kanab on the 22nd.
