Football Recap: Trinity Leadership Skates Past Gateway Charter Academy with Ease + How To Watch

While Trinity Leadership put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Gateway Charter Academy. The Tigers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Gators 44-0. The contest marked the Tigers' most dominant victory of the season.

It was another big night for Londen Cook, who threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. His passing game has become a key predictor of Trinity Leadership's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Damian Demas was Cook's top target, picking up 103 receiving yards and one TD.

Trinity Leadership was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 202 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 168 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Trinity Leadership's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Trinity Leadership's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Gateway Charter Academy, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Trinity Leadership and Blooming Grove will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 903 yards in their previous games. As for Gateway Charter Academy, they will welcome Scurry-Rosser at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
