Baseball Recap: Central Takes Down Baker in a Playoff Battle

Central had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Baker Gators 11-9. The victory continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Gators: they've now won four in a row.

Brock Reeves was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Central's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Shelton Enfinger, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Central's record is now 14-6. As for Baker, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.

Coming up, Central will face off against Jay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. Baker does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
