Baseball Recap: Bishop Kenny Comes Up Short

Bishop Kenny lost against Columbia back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Crusaders fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3. The Crusaders' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Bishop Kenny got a good showing from Aidan Maris, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Maris has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bishop Kenny saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Quevedo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Caleb Pasko also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Bishop Kenny's record now sits at 3-16. As for Columbia, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Kenny will welcome Richmond Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Columbia, they will challenge Flagler Palm Coast at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
