Spring Valley faced George Washington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Timberwolves blew past the Patriots 3-0. The matchup marked the Timberwolves' most dominant victory of the season.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-8, 25-19.

Spring Valley was led to victory by Katie Dowis and Addison Bailey. Dowis had 13 digs and two aces, while Bailey had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Dowis has posted over her last nine matches.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abby Johns, who had ten digs and three aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Natali Tomblin, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Spring Valley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-11-5. As for George Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-13-5 record this season.

Spring Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for George Washington, they will take on South Charleston at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
