Football Game Preview: Cedar Crest Falcons vs. Manheim Township Blue Streaks

Cedar Crest hasn't had much luck against Manheim Township recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to take on the Blue Streaks at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Cedar Crest put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 42-6 victory over Reading. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Red KNights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Manheim Township humbled J.P. McCaskey with a 56-21 victory. Given the Blue Streaks' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Red Tornado are ranked 459th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Manheim Township's win came from a few key players Cedar Crest will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was PJ Myers, who rushed for 151 yards and two scores on only 15 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Daryus Dixon, who picked up 136 receiving yards and three TDs.

Manheim Township was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

The victory got Cedar Crest back to even at 3-3. As for Manheim Township, their record now sits at 5-1.

Cedar Crest might still be hurting after the 38-13 defeat they got from Manheim Township when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Falcons, Carson Weisser (who threw for 241 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
