Basketball Game Preview: Freire Charter Dragon vs. MAST Charter II Voyagers

The Freire Charter Dragon are taking a road trip to square off against the MAST Charter II Voyagers at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Freire Charter is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Hill Freedman World Academy on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Freire Charter was dealt a 58-27 defeat at the hands of Hill Freedman World Academy. Having soared to a lofty 55 points in the game before, the Dragon couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, MAST Charter II fought the good fight in their overtime game against Vaux Big Picture on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Vaux Big Picture by a score of 41-39. While the Voyagers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Vaux Big Picture 7-3 in the first quarter.

MAST Charter II's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Freire Charter, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3.

Freire Charter and MAST Charter II were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but Freire Charter came up empty-handed after a 1-0 loss. Can Freire Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
