Basketball Recap: Gary Comes Up Short

If Gary was riding high fresh off their 56-30 takedown of Garrison on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bobcats fell 45-39 to the Timpson Bears on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bobcats came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Bears are ranked 917th).

Gary's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Timpson, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 10-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gary will challenge rival Elysian Fields at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Timpson is set to square off against their familiar foe Waskom at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
