Softball Recap: Brillion Has No Trouble Against Manitowoc Lutheran

Brillion never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers with a sharp 13-0 victory. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by ten runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Amaya Brooks, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Kara Hedrich was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Brillion and bumps their season record up to 15-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Manitowoc Lutheran, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-13.

Coming up, Brillion will welcome Two Rivers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 2.7, the Purple Raiders 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Manitowoc Lutheran, they will venture away from home to challenge St. Mary Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lancers are facing the Zephyrs at the right time seeing as the Zephyrs are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
