Softball Recap: Rockdale County Bulldogs vs. Newton Rams        
        
		
             Rockdale County was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight  defeat. They fell just short of the Newton Rams by a score of  9-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the  18-10 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in August.
  Jakaria Bell and  Gabby Lloyd stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Bell  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 4-for-4, while  Lloyd  went 2-for-4 with a  home run, two  runs, and two  RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career- in  hits. Another player making a difference was  Cayden Grimes, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Rockdale County  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newton only posted  an  OBP of  .394.
 Rockdale County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Newton, their win  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 5-12.
 Rockdale County will square off against Grayson at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Grayson will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  victory, something Rockdale County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Newton, they will face off against South Gwinnett at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. South Gwinnett is coming into the  contest with five straight  losses on the road,  meaning Newton will have to defend against a  squad hungry for a  win.
