Basketball Recap: Alexandria-Monroe Piles Up the Points Against Wapahani

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Alexandria-Monroe had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wapahani Raiders 54-23. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Jacklynn Hosier was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards. Her evening made it 13 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Conleigh Davidson, who posted ten points and three steals.

Alexandria-Monroe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive games.

Alexandria-Monroe's record now sits at 25-1. As for Wapahani, their loss dropped their record down to 19-5.

Looking ahead, Alexandria-Monroe will challenge Rensselaer Central at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Alexandria-Monroe's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Rensselaer Central's offense will have their work cut out for them. Wapahani does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
