Monroe Catholic heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Friday. They fell just short of Kenai Central by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, Monroe Catholic couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Homer faced Soldotna in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Mariners took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stars. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, Homer couldn't push the score so high this time.

The loss snapped Monroe Catholic's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-2 record. As for Homer, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1.

Monroe Catholic came up short against Homer in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
