Football Game Preview: Glendale Prep Academy Griffins vs. Tonopah Valley Phoenix

The Glendale Prep Academy Griffins will take on the Tonopah Valley Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Glendale Prep Academy is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against San Pasqual Valley on Friday. The Griffins simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warriors 54-14. The Griffins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 40 points or more this season.

Glendale Prep Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua McHale, who threw for 180 yards and six TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes. That's the most passing touchdowns McHale has posted since back in August of 2024. Dylan Lincoln was another key pass catcher, picking up 99 receiving yards and three scores.

Glendale Prep Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 232 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Glendale Prep Academy's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Silas Thompson was the leader with three.

Meanwhile, Tonopah Valley blew past Highland Prep West, posting a 43-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Phoenix.

Tonopah Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Glendale Prep Academy, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-2.

Glendale Prep Academy strolled past Tonopah Valley in their previous meeting back in October of 2020 by a score of 35-16. Will the Griffins repeat their success, or do the Phoenix have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
