Basketball Game Preview: Berkley Bears vs. Harper Woods Pioneers

The Berkley Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Harper Woods Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Berkley will head out to face Harper Woods after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. Berkley took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Orion.

Meanwhile, Harper Woods won against Adams last Tuesday with 45 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Harper Woods blew past North Farmington 45-22. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Raiders are ranked 495th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Harper Woods' victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points per game. As for Berkley, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Berkley came up short against Harper Woods when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 50-43. Can Berkley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
