4A Region 4 Top Player Performances of the Week

Big Game from Hamilton As Fairfield Fell 49-33

Starting off the list is Fairfield's Jumaria Hamilton, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Hamilton threw for 277 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown.

With the defeat, Fairfield broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2. Hamilton and Fairfield will be playing at home against Bibb County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Collin Moore Turns in Season-Best Performance

On Friday, Pleasant Grove got the W thanks in part to Collin Moore playing the best football he has all season. Moore's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards dating back to last season. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Pleasant Grove, bringing their record for this year to 6-1. Moore and Pleasant Grove will square off against West Blocton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Jeffrey Duncan Makes It Two for Fairfield

The second Fairfield player making an appearance here is Jeffrey Duncan, and for good reason. He picked up 87 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Freeman Posts Huge Game in 51-6 Victory

Kaleb Freeman was instrumental in extending Pleasant Grove's winning streak to six on Friday. Freeman was dynamite, throwing for 189 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes.

On the year, Freeman has thrown 18 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 207.4 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 42.27 passer rating per game. This year he is averaging 135.61 passer rating.

Justin Murray's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fairfield over West Blocton

Another Fairfield player making an appearance on this list is Justin Murray. He rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 65 receiving yards. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 50 yards.

On the season, Murray has averaged 24.4 receiving yards per game.
